Need a Spot
I'm not much of a mechanic, so pardon my inability to properly describe.

My alternator and power steering belts broke at the same time, and when I took it into a shop, they said there was nothing they could do because the tensioner and idler pulleys were missing. Not just the pulleys, but everything completely gone. I never really paid much attention to it before, because it just worked.

It appears as if the person before me just found a belt that fit, and pried it on. I've found one that sort of fits - but it is loose, so it keeps coming off. (49.5" OC)

To fix this properly, I need that hardware. I can't seem to find it anywhere. None of my local junkyards have any montero's or raiders. I was able to find 1 supplier who had one assembly left, brand new...for $1,200.

If anyone has any creative solutions for making this work - ie, a link to an alternator with an adjustable bracket? (mine is fixed) - or if anyone has an old gen 1 trashed motor with the assembly attached, I will gladly pay to have it shipped. (I'm in Colorado, zip code 80501)

Any help at all will be appreciated!! Thank you.

Please put your year and engine in your sig line (on your my home personal preferences) so we don't have to guess. I bet somebody on here has at least the bracketry, and the wheels are available.

Thank you for that advice. I've modified my signature - is there more information that would be helpful?

This is the bracket he is looking for. It's the bracket with double pulleys just below the alternator.
