Is there any difference between aftermarket and original fuel injectors for the 1989 V6? Some places want up to $100 for 1 new Nikki or $300 for 1 new Denso injector.

How should the induction system after the throttle body be cleaned?

Why do you need a new one? Have you had the old ones cleaned and flow/leak tested? It's fairly cheap compared to replacement, and then you know if you really need to replace one. Google Cruzin Performance...

To clean the intake, make sure you block the port (about .5" in diameter in the bottom rear of the throttle body bore) for the icm bypass, as the cleaning agent eats out the insulation in the icm stepper motor and causes shorts, icm failure, and likely a burnt up ecu, all serious. To be really safe, remove the TB completely and clean it by wiping with a solvent dampended rag, then spray the rest with TB cleaner.

I was thinking that I should buy some injectors as I'm afeared that sooner or later they will become an obsolete part and then I'll really be in deep doo doo.

Thanks for the suggestion on cleaning the induction system. After taking my engine apart for the rebuild one look inside was yikes...coal tar!

I've got injectors I pulled from junkyards. Couple bucks. If I ever need to change one I've got a few to have done by cruisin and I'm set. They all check ohm ok. My truck has all it's original with 260,000 on them and 25 years.

I wish I had access to that here. We're talkin' bucks from the Mitsubishi Junkyard in Sacramento.

I used to live in Sac. I never bought anything from Mitsu/Saturn yard in Rancho. The one part I almost bought was 3 time the price as I paid at the dealer for a new one.
All Japanese on one of the culdesacs in Rancho was always fair and let me have the run of the yard.
