You could also swap to a Jeep AW4 tailhousing and run an NP231 or NP242. Stock they are 2.73:1.


marks gears (formerly Hardmanns) do fit Gen 2.5 I have a set of 3.15 in my 97. They have revised the ratio down to 2.70 for new gears. There was a couple of group buys that fell over i believe for them to reissue a limited run of 3.15 again.

I have all the gear now for the nvp242 conversion using a Behemoth strong Box, just got to sort out shifters & driveshafts & get it done!.

Motor spat pulley bolt a week ago, so that is my first priority now, cheers


I have a friend that is breaking his XJ, he's going to give me his AW4 for helping, so I'll have the tailhousing to experiment with.
