Does anybody make a catback system for first gen montero or raider? Looking for something for 89 raider 3.0l but thinking it will have to be custom. Any suggestions?

From what I recall... Not in N. America. Perhaps in Australia but then again it probably would be hell to have shipped here.

I had a muffler shop do mine. $70 plus a $30 muffler off Craigslist. New hangars and everything. Hard to imagine it getting shopped there for that.

I had a Gen2 SWB 6G72 3.0L engine in Australia. I had headers, a free flow cat and a tuned exhaust - about 2 3/8" diameter. It was VERY noisy above 3250 RPM - effectively limiting my speed to 110KPH. I had no improvement in mileage. Perhaps I got a tiny increase in high RPM response and power. It wasn't worth the expense - and it was way too noisy. I had to get an authorized db test to make it legal - it passed by about 2db.

ya i'll just stick with custom maybe up it 1/4" diameter and keep it simple and cheap, dont want to loose too much low end power

$100 for my buddy to weld me a new exhaust from the Y pipe back on my LWB. 2 1/4 all the way back and a magnaflow muffler, sounds really quiet but has a nice little burble at cruising speeds. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />
