Well, right now I have a leaking water pipe in the crotch of the V-6 on my '95, the '86 doesn't shift into low range or OD and George's '86 is still in the reassembly stage with his Mikuni in pieces on my dining room table. I may have to shift my attention to my turbo truck to actually have something to drive!

That last sentence was a joke. Or was it?

Anyone want to change to the Mt Lemon backroad lead by our very own WrenchWench? He's kind of a legend around those parts.

Wait, which backroad? Because... I know how to get to Grizzly but have never even been 1/3 of the way up it, it could be crazy by now..

If you mean the *usual* back road, that's 2wd territory in good weather; pretty camping near the top though & a dirty filthy crowded cave to explore near the bottom..

I thought there was a good wheeling trail, i saw some pictures of some FJC's doing it and it looked cool. I could be way wrong.

There's Charoleau Gap which doesn't go up Mt Lemmon but goes through a pass on the North edge of that range... it's a pretty badass trail but the river bottom stretch of it is way beyond my 2" tires capabilities so one of you Bad Dudes(tm) will have to roll that one.

Grizzly Trail goes right up the West face of Lemmon, but I've only ever been up the bottom part of it because it got too ruthless for me... and they've had a lot of weather since then. I don't even know if it's passable by any vehicle at this point.. unless someone has been maintaining it. Last time I was up there was more than 6 years ago.

The most commonly described back way is dirt and graded, goes up from Oracle to Summerhaven and it's pretty near the top but gets pretty crowded because anything able to clear a can of Mt. Dew on level ground can drive up that in dry weather - unless last week's weather notched out the washes. In snowy days there are a lot of.. uhh.. real toolbags up there. Still it would be scenic and all inclusive.

Or we could still do rug road/klondyke...

I'm going to be at Wasteland Weekend next week and have some business travel coming up which might limit how many weekends i can be cool like you guys <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

I don't think I need a wrench-fest. I just got my registration renewal notice for the '95, and it has to go through emissions, so I have to have it back on the road by October 15th anyway. So, I'll be O.K. Just have to get some gaskets together and get to work finding and fixing the coolant leak. And buy a new battery.
