Semi-relevant question. Does converting on these old trucks require additional fittings?

Reason I ask, I lost the suction line where it passes through the core support by the driver's side headlight. The bracket was missing, and the damn thing rubbed clean through. Haztoys picked up the same piece from an 84(?) at his secret stash, and though a little different, I could make it work, but the blown line on my 89 has a fitting apparently welded in. Definitely doesn't look factory.

Curious, you know, since we was on the subject.
