Well, I finally had an assistant available today to help me check for spark or fuel. It looks like no spark is coming from the coil. Maybe I should start replacing things like the coil and fuel filter. Gas looked good from tank. Inhibitor switch below auto shaft looks like it has been bypassed although connections looked good. any suggestions?

Body Damage is Cool
I also have an 89 V6 Raider, and had a similar issue. Total brain fart right now (horrible day at work), but this little gems wiring connectors was fighting me tooth and nail, but I figured out the connector was the issue. It is the part right by the coil, on the same bracket.

Wait a minute. You had spark after the no start, and now you don't? I'd download the 89 powertrain diagnostics manual from mitsubishilinks.com and do all the spark related tests with a VOM.

Eddy, some PO/and/or mechanic had put some kinda connectors in the stock fitting, I had no problems with it for the longest time, then it would intermittently shut off. Sometimes it would start back up immediately , checking spark would just frustrate me, it would have it sometimes, others, not so much. Checking continuity with it disconnected was pointless, the tension was allowing it to connect. The mitsubishilinks manual is prolly going to be the fastest way to figure it out. Unless you just happen to get dumb lucky.

Hello All I was able to go through the coil to find it was getting juice but not sending spark. I should have a fresh coil in my mailbox tomorrow. I sure hope this gets this baby back on the road. The canyon we recently moved to is eating our vehicles up!
Cheers!

Well I put new ignition coil in and she started up first try. Ran for just a few seconds than poof. No restart. I checked coil again and no spark. I am going to try and figure out how to read codes because the engine LIGHT was on. Anybody have any tips on reading codes? Cheers!

Diagnostic plug is above glove box, to the rightish, taped to the harness.

Using upper right and lower left terminals, catch up, connect a test light or analog votmeter and with the switch in on, read the pulses, long and short. Long is tens, and short is units. Long, short, short, short is 13. In the fsm mpi section is the chart of codes.

That was easier than I thought. I tried to use a multi meter but numbers were jumping around so much I thought "no way". Than after using a analog reader it was easy to figure out. Looks like my tps and injector codes came up. I guess I'll order a new tps and try to clean the connections! They looked really oxidized! Cheers
