I need a distributor plug for a 1990 3.0 montero. It's the 4 wire rectangle one. I can't find one anywhere around here.

We know there's only one distributor, but Dave is asking which end of the harness you need the plug for, the end at the distributor or the end that is at the firewall?

The plug on the firewall has 7 wires and is square he stated he is looking for a 4 wire plug that is rectangular like the one that plugs into the distributor.

crazyhal if you can't find a plug can you repair the one you have by wiring new pins for it?
Otherwise I would contact one of the places online that sell used engine wire harnesses.

carefull,,,the plug with 7 wires at firewall is the injector harness on the '89. The distributor plug is mounted near the injector harness plug and has 4 wires...

My apologies, I did not realize the 89 and 90 were different. My 90 has only one plug there on the firewall for the efi. I just assumed you meant that one.

unfortunately the '89 is unique on alot of things electronic. If you have another year and need the plug at the dizzy, one off a caravan would work(I'm fairly sure).
I think stating 92 3.0 , there wasn't a plug for the injectors either at the firewall, and if you needed injector harness you have to buy the entire wiring harness.

sorry im just getting back. i cant re-pin plug cause i broke the plastic part. im having hell with my montero. no tach needle movement while cranking...reading code shows crank angle sensor bad on two different distributors. i broke distributor plug back pinning using easyautodiagnostics.com method. I tested control relay and checks good as per factory service manual.
