So I have a gen1 montero with all red tail lights and want to swap to tail lights with a seperate orange lens for the turn signal. Problem I have is that the brake and turn signal current comes in on one wire. I need to seperate the signals and am wondering where that happens? Anyone know or do I have to follow the wiring? (I'm guessing its at the turn signal switch unfortunatly)

88 Montero, StarQuest turbo, Kormex 5speed +tuff-pan w/phoenix f. stage2 clutch, 4in lift+33' tires, 4.875 lsd, short-throw shifter, Aisin hubs, SR big brakes, gen2 uca's, elantra alt, and so much more... 16g turbo w/hardpipes + 4.90 locking disk-brake axle soon (maybe lsd or aussie front??)

well i'd have to see it for sure but look inside the tail light housing i'd bet you can just rewire right there for the turn signals to be separate from the brake light.

I have both. I think you simply rewire the connectors at the lamp. I'll compare the sets I have and comment back around Tuesday / Wednesday.
