Getting the Wheeling Fever
Hey all,
I see there is a thread on replacing wheel bearings on a gen 2 montero. Is it much different than the gen 1. I have an 89 raider v6. Is this a very difficult task? Any tips?
Thanks,
Mackinley

Wear rubber gloves when packing the bearings. Messy job

Heck, wear a full Racal suit. I found bearing grease in the small of my back, under a shirt and tee shirt and hoody once. No idea how it got there.

I don't wear gloves when packing bearings. I've found that the grease does wonders for the hands. Kind of like soaking in Palmolive.

It's the stuff in it with the distinctive smell of castor oil. Castor oil is a poison, and can absorb thru the skin. My father swore by castor based lubricants because the oil would hold up to higher temps, which explains my addiction to Castrol to this day. Besides, the hand cleaner that will remove all bearing grease has yet to be invented. Even Dawn doesn't work.
