Hmm. Fave engines for a swap...

Easiest is the 2.6t.
Ideal is probably the 2.4dohc turbo.
But there's a lot to be said for the 4.3 gm swap of engine and tranny/tcase, in large part due to the fact that you can buy parts anywhere, anytime, anyhow, and there's a huge aftermarket, too.

I'm not a diesel freak, but I bet there's have been a lot more sold with any of the good diesels from mitsu.
