Holy crap! That's everyone's nightmare I think, while laying under your rig...

Did he give any indication that he knew what was up when you saw him? I liked the envelope part. Neat and tidy. And deliberate...

Glad you're sticking around though.

thanks for the sentiments, guys!

the AAA driver explained to him what was in the envelope and how it must be a considerate prankster.

all's well that ends well. one of these days we'll chat, but for now he's keeping a good distance. im happy about that because i'll be getting my rig ready for the rubicon trip next year with the az crew and i dont want it to land on me again.

Yes, definitely glad you are still with us Dan. After having read your thread to my wife Judy this morning, I went into the garage and worked on getting my oil pan removed, cleaned up and prepared for re-installation. I spent several hours underneath the raider. Guess what I was thinking about the whole time I was down there. It was a really eerie feeling all day long. Judy kept coming in every few minutes getting things from the garage without saying anything.

It didn't dawn on me until her forth or fifth trip into the garage that she was checking in on me. It must have really shook her up after having read your thread to her. I've been in the garage all summer working on my 89 Raider or my 97 Montero. Little did I know that she was secretly worried about that very thing while we were under there. She and I talked about it some more today and that was when she revealed her fear to me.

By the way, she had a great big smile on her face when I came back in later in the afternoon and read aloud your update about the news on the Prius' flat tires. LOL. She said that's what he gets.

Thanks, Jay. That is exactly why i couldn't tell my wife. Living on my boat means i have to work out of my shop and need to wrench in the parking lot in front of the door. Someday I'll have a garage again, someday. A man can dream..

We ARE going to have to have details of the lug nut bandit, soon...

Dan lost his left front wheels this morning. Fortunately, he is a fortunate guy again and paid attention to the strange noise.

Wait, you're telling us that some dummy sabotaged his Montero by stealing lug nuts? Then Dan drove around and lost the left front wheel? Am I reading this right?

Wow!!!
That could have been deadly. Mongo has the worst luck this week. Near fatality working on the Montero, then looses a front wheel while driving!

Worst case scenario would have been he lost it on the freeway going 65. I seriously doubt that he "forgot" to torque those lugs back on. Could it possibly be that the saboteur was retaliating and went way overboard?
