A/M = aftermarket

And I personally haven't had any issues with aftermarket t-stats, but it wouldn't surprise me if they fail more often since 95% of manufacturers, no matter what their product is, are trying to find cheaper ways of manufacturing, whether that be in the materials they use or the process in which they produce their product.
