David,

Thank you for the offer! That's awesome, I will be happy to make the journey up, i might need to purchase a number of things from you, I've got a project that I'll be building next year and I'll need a lot of Frankenstein parts.

Let me know when it would be ok for me to come up, before I make the journey up 17 I'll need to change my rear shoes and fix my trailer brakes, My E350 "Ron Burgundy" is not making anymore mountain passes without working trailer brakes and new rear shoes.

speaking of cool little cars, here's the car we rescued over the last few days; my girlfriends 76, poor thing needs a bath and a new engine now. the 4G32 was on borrowed time, it leaked oil, burned oil, had been run dry a few times over the last few years, finally piston #3 soft seized in the cylinder and the toothpicks they call rod bolts let go, sending the rod cap into the side of the block and knocking a 2 inch chunk out of it. Little bugger still runs though, drove it onto the trailer!

Well, I thought I had everything;

Anyone local have a 2.6 automatic flexplate? Must have 6 bolt pattern for the torque converter (there's 4 and 3 bolt out there)

trying to get this thing up and running asap.

Well, it's up and running and driving on the 2.6 that it used to have in it. Cleaned the crank threads all up and removed the broken bolts, it had the wrong crank bushing in it from when Mark (Runningbird) and his sons rebuilt the engine, one of the boys put the wrong bushing in and it was larger than the opening in the flex plate, flex plate was dished over the bushing and the flex plate wobbled over a 6 year span. The engine only has 4,000-6,000 miles on it according to Mark. I added a few mods during all that too.

has a 2 liter carb from a 76 Colt, with an open filter, running on 91, i may adapt the carb to a snorkle soon. Also has an unknown brand long tube header, 2 inch exhaust through a good flowing muffler, 3 row radiator, 1.5in body lift, 15x8 wheels and 33" tires. I bought a single boat heat extractor im going to fit to the passenger side of the hood to vent heat on slow trails. Also has a 120 watt 24" light bar for the front bumper.

Make sure you locate that vent far enough forward on the hood - too far to the rear and the high pressure area that develops at the base of the windshield while driving will actually push air back into the engine bay through the vent. Pressurizing the engine bay means that cooling air won't want to flow in through the radiator and you'll have created a serious problem with your cooling system - not something you need with a G54B.

Hey it makes for a great budget rig for my girl while we get our feet on the ground here in AZ, this will work perfect until next year when I can afford to build up another SR chassis. I'm thankful it was available.

Will do, i bought a long narrow one with angled vents for that reason mostly, i'll also use the stock intake tube hook up to route a piece of ducting under the header pointed upwards to force air out of that vent while driving on the highway. hope it werks.
