Probably the best off-roading series ever. And it has me drooling all over myself after only 1 episode. First of all, since so much government land is locked up in Alaska I was shocked you could even attempt 4 wheeling from one end to the other. I am curious to see how this evolves. Is 90% just going to be on the Alaskan Highway? The start sure was not. Anyone want to plan a non-racing repeat a couple of summers down the road? Wonder how long it takes....

A good web series, a little more realistic and better quality.

Why did this not make TV?

I had thought of a cool series of offroad challenges that i think would be cool to film and post up on the net. Unfortunately those things are hard to capture and offroading never looks as good on camera as it does in real life.
I saw the preview for the deal in Alaska and it definitely looks like something i'd watch, reinds me of Aussie wheeling videos but not desert themed.

I'm digging it, glad to see home built rigs without big bucks on all the latest and most expensive gear. More personality that way.

DVR is a must with any History Channel show. Hour show is about 30 minutes Commercial or replay of footage.

Those rigs are not gonna make it all the way if the first show is any indication. Also looks like some of the people are actors. Got to have a script to stir up some drama for the TV cameras.

The one guy in the jeep could put on his seat belt for sure. I figured there would be an episode with him getting tossed out.

Carl Jantz & Rich Rudman û The only non-Alaskans, these æoutsiders' from Seattle have a lot to prove but are often referred to as ôMacGyverö and the ôMad Scientist.ö They can make their home crafted jeep run with a paper clip.

Carl Jantz is on pirate, has written great tech articles, and sells kits to put Dana 50 gears into a 44, and Dana 70 gears in a 60.

I watched the first episode. A little too much drama and not enough wheeling.....

I've been planning on driving to AK for awhile now. Hope to make it happen in the next couple years. The distances are incredible - Seattle to Anchorage one-way 2300 miles and takes about 48 hours of driving time. That would be three 16 hour driving days not including fuel, pit or sightseeing stops. Once up there, it's not bad.

Yep, its a long drive. I assume its at least a 3 week journey? Add 1.5 days more me to get to your neck of the woods. Definitely and epic journey. Lets see how there route works out. Looks to me like its mostly primary roads, then jumping off at a few off-road areas.....
