That's good to know, about the window not working unless it's running. I may just have to build my own harness. So you guys think mitsubishi made different body harnesses depending on options? I was thinking there could be an unused connector on mine that would allow the overlay or"add on" harness for those options ex. Pwr window and locks? Thats how most manufacture's do it now. Too bad I can't find a 89 v6 with those options I could just pull the whole body harness and plug and play. Maybe cut holes for the jamb. When I converted my 87 2.6 auto trans body to go on the 89 v6 manual trans frame I took the donor harness and just rewired the body due to the cluster and EFI for the lamps like check engine. also the spot for the clutch master was stamped already on the 87 body but I needed to just cut the holes and install. So figured they would make one body harness so what ever options could be added on the line, instead of having multiple harnesses made. Sounds more expensive from a manufacturing standpoint. Also my 89 donor did not have power locks, however I have two unused connector for the locks and relay under the center console? Sorry if I'm rambling, drinking whiskey!

Mitsubishi had the electric windows wired so that kids couldn't hurt themselves with the ignition off. You should be able to run the windows with the switch in the on position. It's a real PITA. I re-did mine in Australia so the they would work anytime.

So far went pretty good, went to the yard and got both regulators which by the way are geared not cable. Master switch, sub switch, both door harnesses and both door cards that also have pockets that mine doesent have they also match the grey interior and not to bad of shape. Oh also grabbed the fuseble link and the cap that says pwr window. I forgot my bible so I didn't think to get the relay and controller. Most from an 88 2.6 except the passenger door card which was at a different yard. That was some luck there!! Checking the 89 electrical manual looks like the wiring is the same mostly bit the connectors are shaped or pinned differently, hoping can be corrected by pulling terminals and repinning or swapping connectors entirely. Keep you guys posted.

Ok alittle help here, I have pulled the regulators and door harnesses and other components from an 87 montero, so I know they come equipped with pwr windows however I cannot find any information in the montero and raider electrical FSM in anything other then 89. The 89 lists power window circuit on page 8-2 table on contents and show schematics on pg 94 but not in the 88 or 87 electrical manual. The real problem here is the 89 raider FSM shows the control relay (not the pwr relay, I have that one) in the driver door, I have the driver door harness and also double checked the donor today, its not in the door and no plug for it on the harness? I also checked an 88 montero with pwr windows, also no control relay in the door or kick panel, it's a 7 way harness.

Yep, 84, 87, in aurora about 10 minutes from my place. 88 in denver about 20 minutes from my place. The 88 was almost complete last week, all with 2.6 but not anymore almost a body now. Two of the three had pwr window and I still can't find the control relay. Anyone know where it's mounted? It's not in the driver door or driver kick panel that's the pwr relay.

not sure what the sub switch is all about but..
...

You must be reading the factory wiring diagram. That kinda threw me for a loop too. The so called "sub switch" is the passenger side power window switch mounted on the door.

This is pure speculation but I think JohhnyB is running into some sort inadvertent grounding issue. My new 1989 Raider operates power windows without the engine running.

In regards to differences in wiring harnesses, I have not determined that yet. I have completely taken the interior apart on my new raider (equipped with power windows) and will take out my interior on my old raider (equipped with crank windows) over the course of the next couple of days. I will determine this shortly.

Lower left of driver side door. It's in the access hole in a mounting bracket.
