For the price you list, you could purchase a Mighty Max or D50, get all the parts you need, sell off a bunch of things and then make a trailer from the carcass.

Has anyone ever got someone from car-parts.com to ever email back on a part ..I never have ... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />...

I've purchased many items that have been found on car-part - but have always picked up the phone and called. Never tried the email function there.

Auto 2.4 sports are rare but they do exist, i've seen a few.

I ordered my parts on mitsubishiparts.net, i looked them up myself on wincaps.

Here's a little comparison on the different 2.4L engines, the first HP number being the earliest version available in America RWD configuration the second being the latest available.

8v 2.4 = 107-116hp L300 van and MightyMax

16v 2.4 = 132-145hp Montero Sport

8v 2.6 = 105-109hp Pickups and Montero

15+ hp seems like it's worth looking for. I'm going to compare availability vs price this weekend.

found a local 98 MS with a 5sp for $1500. Has 220k on it and I have not seen or heard it yet. Will be heading out on Wed to look at it. Since I just need the engine and accessories out of it, is there anything I should look for? If it checks out, I'll then have to purchase the pajero flexplate and spacers separately.

I'm hoping so. It didn't say anything about being 4x4, 4x2, locker or anything. I have a vin, but would that tell anything? JA4LS21G7WP007214

I looked up the vin in ASA and it shows an open diff. Guess I'll see tomorrow.
