FAIL: waited 2+ hrs for them to find the key, then when they got it made, battery was dead. Jumped it, but no gas. Added gas and it was only running on 3 cylinders. There was a lie behind every word they said.

I found another MS with 2.4L. it's also a manual. pics look good, but they are asking $2100. runs good, rebuilt trans (which I don't want) etc. Trying to decide if I want to pull the trigger. pricing a low mile engine on car-part, then shipping, ecm, harness, brackets, etc, I think I would be close to that. But buying the whole rig, I would at least know I had everything. Hmmm, thoughts?

sounds like a great donor, I think you may even be able to use that flex plate setup (confirm in CAPS yourself). Having a complete running donor vehicle makes a world of a difference in a engine swap project.

ad says it has 195k on it. I'm trying to get more details, but if it is running good and has 195k on it, do I need to worry about a rebuild in the near future? I would presume yes, but I have been wrong a few times before smile

My only advice, the 2100 rig sounds too pricey. I bought a starion for 700 to do a swap, and figured it would be better to buy a running complete rig rather than piece together. Turned out all the parts were crap and half the stuff broke within the first 6 months and I had to piece together the parts anyway.. I bought a 700 intake and intercooler. 200k is a bit, so it could,be the same.

JDM engine depot don't have that motor?

nope. the 4g64 wide block is what's harder to find. narrow block is much easier to find. thought I had a line on one, but it wasn't in the shipping container...again. 3 months is long enough to wait.

OMG, what a nightmare. Not the truck, but the guy. Tried to buy it and he couldn't find the title. He said, huh, I just figured it was in the glove box with the rest of the papers...never bothered to look though. I can right a book here about what else happened, but 3 days later...and me talking him down from 2700 > 2150 > 2000, I have the MS. runs good for the miles, needs a tune up.... slight miss. So I'll be getting all my other parts ordered in the next few days to do the swap. I'll be posting the 98 MS left over parts in the G-sale section once I get some pics.
