BFG A/T's or M/T's are good choices. Firestone Destination M/T's look fascinating, but I don't know anyone who has them. I know at least one local guy who has Goodyear Dura-Tracs and liked them, and Goodyear's M'T's have been improved since the early days (used to be treacherous wet-weather street tires).

I'd stay away from their house brands myself and I don't really suggest anything with only a two ply sidewall, but that's just me. Can't wait to see them Saturday.

I've been very happy with my Cooper Discoverer AT3's. They seem sturdy and look great. Fairly chunky tread yet they run practically silent on the highway. Really improved my ride and handling too.

The question is what is the best option in size for freeway ride/gas/and off roadà

Keep in mind I drive this thing around town mostly. I don't want to throw everything off with lifting and going bananas with tire size <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Besides the BFG's (I have 2 sets myself), you may want to also consider Falken ATS tires.

They're available in a 30x9.50R15, 31x10.50R15, 32x11.50R15, 33x12.50R15, 35x12.50R15 and were a decent savings over BFG's.

Settle for Falken AT's - they are the only 30" that will fit on the stock rimà

I know they aren't THE BEST tires - but the price and fit is just right.

Not to be a wet blanket, but BFG A/Ts are crap in the snow, slush, mud and rain. Been there, got the tee shirt.

Yokohama Geolandar A/Ts. They're good wearing, self-evacuate real well so they make an excellent snow/slush tire and work decently in the mud. They work just as well as the BFG 'Moab Edition' (if not better) in Moab on slick rock and in deep sand. They also are pretty sticky so they work well on the slick granite here in CO.

And, they're priced decently. They're not going to impress anyone looking at them, but they work. Been running these for years and you'll be hard pressed to beat them without going to a M/T.

If you want a M/T with good road manners, look at the Geolandar M/T+. Cheaper than any of the other M/Ts and a great tire M/T is most of your driving is on pavement/dirt, but they're also super sticky and the life span reflects that.
