Johnny! They are 15x8 zero offset wheels, basically any 15x8 chevy full size aftermarket wheel would be this fitment, these were from a datsun dude over near your hood. Tires are 33" kevlars. They rub on the front bumper so I'll be going at it with the sawzall before saturday.

So i got a question for you guys, this will be my raiders first time out and it's a little finicky still, waiting on actual carb rebuild parts. I'm considering heading into the trail for an hour or so depending on how the truck behaves and then turning around and going back to my trailer, is this something that could be done on this trail?

Basically I dont want to risk the first time out taking me half way through the trail only for the truck to break and recovery become an all day thing, I've got a lot of stuff to get done over the holiday weekend. I also don't want to burden any of you guys with dragging my ass out of the trail

Lots of places to turn around, that plan won't be a problem. Do you think it won't stay running?

I put an old basket on top and added some retro looking lights to the bumper. They are just mounted, I'll need help with wiring as I have no experience with that. I'd like them to turn on with the parking lights. Is that feasible?

Well, the carb hasnt been used in almost 15 years, so that's my main concern.

Aside from that the truck has sat for quite a while before i got it and who knows what could fail, i've only put maybe ten miles on it.

Your lights are especially easy to wire up to the runners, that's how i've always done it on my monteros. You'll need a bosch relay and you use 4 of the 5 pins.

here's a rough wiring diagram

personally I put relay ground (86) to the chassis and ground wires from the fogs also the the chassis, then use the 'switch' vampire clipped into any of the power wires for the running lights, I'll usually splice in about 1 inch back from the runner light socket, that way if i ever have an issue i can fix it easily. If you're in mesa just bring it over to my place and i'll help you sort it out.

It seems funny to me how many of this crowd hasn't ever done the road up Four Peaks. It was the first trail I ever did with my first Raider, and actually was the first trail I ever did in any vehicle in AZ back before I knew any of you when I had a '73 Cadillac Calais 2-door. It was during a time when there was a prison inmate escape that made the news and someone who pulled up to where I was hanging out near the top asked in amazement how I got that car up there and then pulled a gun and made sure I didn't have one on me because he thought I might be 'that guy.'

It's also the only place I ever have seen a Gila Monster in the wild as well as a place where I found a nice survival knife hanging from a tree that someone forgot (I call it 'Mike,' because I do stupid stuff like that).

It's not a hard trail at all and a lot of passenger cars do it on weekends, but it is quite scenic, especially when you make it over the saddle and get a look at Roosevelt Lake on the other side. There's some good hiking opportunities up there, too.

Pretty pleased with the raider today. Once the carb is all cleaned up it should be a great trail runner.

Great meeting many of you and thanks again for putting things together and leading the way Kevin, I had a great time and so did Kim.

Good times. Good to see such a great turn-out. Thanks for stacking rocks for me so I could get Jorge's '89 up that hill! Gotta get an SR rear axle in that thing!

Edit to the above edit by Toasty: We kind of decided that an SR rear axle was too big n heavy for the uses this truck would be needed for in a discussion with Haztoys. We really want one of his 'special stack' LSD third members for the rear. The way he builds them, they are quite tight, and easy to install.
