Not sure what this guy is going on about. I personally run no script so I do not get adds, and don't know if this guy / these guys have a legitimate complaint.

Depends on ur browser I think. So many other chiming in do confirm it as well. I'm also facing it on Safari on my iPad albeit stays at the bottom of my screen so is less annoying.

What is uber annoying are the way the forum highlights key text and if you point anywhere near the text advertising pops up.

But I know advertising is the life blood of this site and other than actively manage the sales of ad space, Google adsense type adverts are really the only alternatives.

Belatedly I did leave a comment.

Been sick for almost 2 weeks and finally feeling better.

Me too John. I was litterally horizontal from the 24th until the 5th and worked only half days all last week. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

I think it was the Applebee's popup took me to a place loaded with viruses. I run 4x4wire unfiltered and i click the ads, i meant to bring the virus thing to your attention but i forgot.

Thanks. I have antivirus running on the server. I have received some warnings from it. Mostly they are some scripting issues that are flagged as virus.

Roll Me Over
I am having similar issues. I am going to stay away for a few days to see if by not coming to the site I am able to clean up my system.

Right now the site is my home page so I go here multiple times per day.

Roll Me Over
I am doing this entry on an IOS device in hopes that I can avoid being infected again. My issue appears to be a key stroke logger associated with the ads. I cleaned my system, came to the forums home page, shut down IE and I was already infected. Changed my home page to avoid 4x4wire and haven't had the problem. Issue shows its ugly head when attempting to type the cursor jumps erratically.

Which version of IE??

I have seen some reports about IE being problematic. Chrome and Firefox appear to be more stable in dealing with scripting and newer implementations of html.

I do know that there was a virus issue last summer amidst some other server flood attacks. That was all cleaned as as a further precaution, the site was rebuild in a new file structure. And, antivirus software was added and back links have been eliminated.

If you are getting a keystroke logger issue, I'm not sure it is from the site. Google does a good job of monitoring sites and ad delivery. Scripts that try to break out of iframe will trigger a virus alert. However, only IE has a problem with handling it.

If you have more info, I will check further.
