Once you know your main battery cables are good, IMHO this is a nice improvement over stock. The factory runs a lot through the ignition switch and if your adding extra loads, the voltage drops can cause problems.

An alternative to running all your loads through a relay is to just separate out one or two of the larger one. The first one that comes to mind is to separate out the directionals / marker lights or see if LED bulbs with an electronic flasher would reduce draw and still flash.

The rear defroster is another candidate.
