Need a Spot
Changing out timing chain, balance chain, oil pump on my 87 Raider due to broke balance chain and everything to this point is going well (thanks to previous posts and pictures I found searching). Problem that I've come to is that the bolt that goes through the top of the balance chain guide (chain guide "A" in FSM), then through the top of the timing chain tension guide and into the block was broken off. I'm sure I can tap the threaded part out, but where can I find this bolt? It is about 2" long with the first 1.5" inches a sleeve (where it goes through the balance chain guide and the last part threaded. I tried looking at Mitsubishi.net, but did not find.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Jeff

I have a 2.6L boat anchor motor that I'll be taking the timing cover off of shortly. Post a pic of the specific area and I'll pull the bolt tomorrow.

It's the top bolt on the balance shaft guide in the picture (upper right)

Do you have a fastenal by you?(or something of the sort) Take the old bolt with you and see if they can match it up. Im visualizing the bolt you have, I think there relatively common, Good-luck METALMOVER

The factory advises that you don't reuse that bolt. Buy a new one from the dealer or a local parts house. There is a TSB on it and the torque value was increased. Make sure you have a lock washer under the bolts shoulder.
