And your u joints are good?When you put it in gear does it clunk at all, or with foot on the brake, in gear and tap the gas does it klunk ?Are the u joints serviceable? If so pump em full of grease and see if the noise changes at all. If not Id probably replace them first since you'll probably want to do that if you rebuild the rear-end anyway. Or could you have bent the drive-shaft in the deep hole or knocked a weight off and now its out of balance? Good luck. MM
