Good post KevinC ...Good to have you back ..You where gone for some time ...Hows the garage going and did you get a job you 'liked'..?... My friend...
Your right flux of any sort kills wire ....And engineering theory is good and all ..But ...What do we do with 25 year old wiring harness.???. Cut the ends off...Thats not rational .. Baking and fluxing a 'old' wiring does clean the crimp .. Does it give off a acidic flux to it ...Your right ... But once more ..'What do you do to fix a 25 year old wiring'..When Mother Mitzu made the wiring and crimp they dicked it up from the start ...We are dealing with a vehicle that is past its "Intended lifespan" some ten years ago... Here on the Wire to help 'Joe home guy' .. As I said in my last post .."You cant win" ... This 'round' you will drive your Monty another ten years before the next round ..The next round of keeping a old Mitsz wiring alive is to solder all wiring ..And solding will give me another ten years ... At that point its cut all wire crimps off ..We get another ten years for the OEM wiring harness .. You cant win ..As I said ...
We are at 60 year old car ...I'm died kids..
You can replace all wire ends ..I have the parts to do it ...But......
And
You 'cant' buy a new TPS plug ..As far as "I" know .."I" cant find one.. But there used on much later years too ..Easy to find ..
Dizzy plug on a '90' bites the big one too look there..(Dizzy plug is not the same as 89..89 V6 is its own animal..)
Great input guy keep it coming ...All good points ...
