Usually I stick my action camera on the outside of my windshield because it looks a lot better but I totally forgot that at home and had to rely on my dashcam.... it's not as good looking but here is a video of yesterday's TRAIL ACTION - for anyone who missed it.

So here is the write-up:

I prescouted Elephant Butte road on Friday night, driving all the way to the end of it and determining that some places are better left wild... let's just say it's not a part of the Superstitions I'll be eager to visit again.

Sunday morning we returned to meet with Pa Jero and Toasty and their kids in the Pa Jero Mon Tero at the only restaurant in Queen Valley. We didn't wait around for anyone else because we weren't expecting anyone else to join us.

Air down to 22psi and roll out toward our turn-off at Hardt Tank Road - this was all new territory for us. The road turned out to be beautiful! The official ROAD ends at Hardt Tank, but continues on as "Trail" 1900 through Campsite Spring, over to Millsite Canyon and comes out at Mesquite Spring.

Vehicles were my 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland (2" lift, 32" tires) and Pa Jero's 2nd gen Montero on 35's and wearing full Rubicon battle dress. All equipment performed well and while my rock rails took a few good hits due to low clearance and narrow trails, there were no equipment failures and no stucks and no recovery was needed. Pa Jero confidently rolled through everything and didn't seem to mind the severe off-camber narrow parts near the top of the canyon.

We finished up the day by running the West half of Montana Mountain, before calling it a day and heading for home down Hewitt Canyon Road.

Toasty also is banned from eating mcmuffins before trail rides.
