Man, I know Karma's a Bit$% but damn I'm a nice guy and help my fellow neighbor and all that good for you karma crap. But damn, I've got a 90 Montero that needs an ECU. Injector Circuit is always on so too much fuel and won't start.
So I move to the 87 Raider I picked up. Put the timing set in, well I've got it 180 off. Pull it apart, get it to fire and it sounds like the bottom end is going to come out of the pan. AAARRRGGH!!!!
So now I'm looking for a 90 ECU # E2T35271A or info on the bottom end on the 2.6 if the cranks are known to go bad. This Raider sat for 5 years so I put a new oil pump in it just in case and I do have Oil Pressure on the gauge.

Sorry on the drama .. No help on the 90 ECU just sold the last one I had ... I have a 'black' Starion crank in the stash if that helps .. Is the C/B hitting the block do to a bad bearings ...? .. It may not be a bad crank ...

Well after my little fit, I wonder if bad fuel is still in the tank and it is just predetonating like mad. New plan is to clean the lines out tomorrow and try again. And not to jump the gun and act like a kid. I really don't want to pull it but who knows... What did you mean by C/B?

Ah. No balance shafts. They were removed when the PO had the engine rebuilt. Balancer is on tight. I hit it with the Impact gun to put it on. It would barely run with the PS pump and the Alt belts on it. So I hoping its bad gas. But seeing how it is starting to snow, maybe awhile before I get it drained.

Well they call it snow. It's not doing much but what does come down is harder than snow and really wet.

So... If a jet valve gets sucked it, does it sound like a rod. Got fresh gas in so now it idles but still knocks. Plugs are good and no damage there.

Yes ... The one I had did ..

I had a jet-V suck the valve head off ..Then the valve stem do to the spring shot up and broke off the rocker arm .. ... The motor really sounded DOA.. Lots of knocking out of the motor ...It was not a 'knock' it was the air rushing out the jet-V guide do to the stem and spring and lock was now up in the rocker valley ...

Installed a new jet-V and rocker and off to the races.. The jet-V head did drop into the motor ..But the 2.6 'steamshovel motor' sucked up the valve head and spit it out and the motor lasted another 100K ... Then did a 'lawn dart' move and killed the truck ..LOL...

Got to love the old "SS M 2.6"

Hope that helps..

So, will that crank fit in an 87 2.6. If so, I am going to assume it will need to be ground. What you want for it?
