I have used these on several cars that had evap sensors and they worked fine with that. Also all new fords have these instead of gas caps.

As for the cross referencing - I use rockauto a lot to do that, and looking at all the crossreferencing I can find, it appears that there is one listed for a later model montero sport, and I assume that uses the same cap.. so maybe I will just bite the bullet and order one.

WIll let you guys know how it turns out. I put gas in the montero every other month or so and my gas cap is getting hard and hard to take off (stripped). Every time I get it off and refill I tell myself I am going to order a gas cap before the next time I need gas. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
