Depending on the year of the VW diesel, you may have to replace the KIA ECU with the ECU from the VW donor, or replace the ECU plus the instrument cluster and some other items due to VW's "immobilization" features (anti-theft). But I believe the immobilization functions can be deleted from the ECU by those with the knowledge and programming tools.
