so I'm just going to use some nylon bushings that are really close to the correct size for a temporary fix instead of leaving the assembly out.
then when I have more money I will replace it with the newer unit.

Should work fine. Use Loc-Tite on the screws, of course.

As I'm sure you remember, that o-ring I gave you goes on the back of the back half of the water pump and seals the metal water tube.

If you need any O-rings to try to seal the front of the butterfly shaft where it exits the front of the lower plenum, I have a metric kit or you can get a whole set from Harbor Freight.

Good work with the Time Sert. I'm really impressed with their product. It has saved a few of us on here so far.

Yes thanks for the reminder on that o ring. I will just buy a metric one for the butterfly shaft. the bushings i found were perfect for fitting in the plenum and the hole for the shaft was bout .020" big but its not that bad for a temporary fix.

All of the current valve guide seals are the former exhaust seals, there are not supposed to be intake-specific seals any more.

Do you have cam seals for the front and rear of the heads? Maybe that's why you have 8 instead of 4.

Sorry I missed your call. I was asleep.

I think you're missing a digit on those valve stem seals. I show p/n MD307343.

you're right I missed the last 3 in there but you're saying that i should use the MD306079's only ?

I want to take the correct ones over to the machine shop in the morning so they can assemble the heads and i can get this party rolling.

All the MD306079's go back. Do NOT use them. See my post in the other section. I have you covered.

Let's hope they labeled the cams, for some reason shops like to think that they are all the same. Then they're wrong and the truck runs like crap.

Do you know how to identify what cams go where? when i put the timing belt on the cams on the drivers side engine lined right up with the marks on the valve cover but on the passenger side when I lined them up they kept wanting to spin out of position?

is that normal for these engines when you're putting the timing belt on?

i can rotate the engine by the crank and the cams and crank are all on the correcting marks

That's normal behavior for that engine - one of the reasons it's such a pain to get the timing belt on and everything timed correctly. Based on that I'd guess you've got the cams in the correct locations.

good to hear thats normal. I haven't done a timing belt in about 10 years. It took a few attempts, when I would set the tension idler it would move the cam sprockets.

now I just need to figure out how the wiring went get the fuel rail, intake, exhaust and anything in front of the motor I removed.
