Anybody have any leads as to where or from who I might be able to get a hazard switch for my 87 SWB??? The old one broke and I can't, for the life of me, find another one! Let me know! Thanks!!

First, it is still available new from mitsu at $90.

Second, you can fix yours as per the write up by Jay Ayala. He says you can glue the arm back on should it have broken. I heated up a sewing needle and melted/stuck it through the arm pieces to kind of brace it. I also threw out the detent spring. This way the switch just slides rather than clicks, reducing needed force and stress.

Lastly, I have an original unbroken hazard switch that I'm saving. Problem is I did the whole tear down, clean, and works to it. I'm happy to help out fellow mitsu owners, but since I put a bit of work into this thing (not just walking by and pulling it at the u pull) I can't just send it your way for like $10.

If you got cash, buy new. If your broke, fix yours. If you want mine, pm me an offer.

Unless, you have a good used cross member from a 2.6 5 speed montero. Then I can buy that off you and I'll send you the switch for free lol,

Ye, I've seen that and I really don't want to have to spend $90. Thing is, I don't have the little broken pieces of the arm in the switch. I just have the rocker and the box. So somehow, I have to retrofit something to the rocker so that it moves the little white contact inside. But... I haven't figured out what I will retrofit and how I'll do it. I looked up jay's write up, but the thread is blank. There is nothing there, as if the pictures and words had expired or something. The responses are visible, but nothing else. Hmmmm....

I totally understand where you're coming from on that. I don't have a crossmember either... And trying to find monteros out here in California is like trying to find a needle in a haystack... Or maybe I'm just not looking in the right places.

Not trying to be negative, but there's no picture. Plus it's listed for the mighty max. I remember calling the dealer for the part number and shopping on all the mitsu sites. Cheapest I could find was about $85. Hence I think it's not the one he needs. If it is right, I'll take 2 lolz.

You're in california, not maine? Where? There are 3 sitting in nor cal junkyards right now and 1 just across the border. gotta be some in s cal.

check out picknpull.com row 52

don't bother with the fresno or richmond yards. some big s.o.b. already looted those rigs. and if you go to sac do it quick. i have it on good authority he's heading there next.
