Finding a m10x1.25 tap to chase the threads on the manifold is proving to be difficult

Ended up buying a tap set at auto zone that had one. Got the manifold and WOW!! I've never so excited to hear a quiet engine. Unfortunately another problem has come up. I took it for the longest test drive yet, ran great (steady 55-60 mph) until I got to where I turned into a drive, backed out and instantly after putting it in drive the trans starts to slip. I struggled the whole way back to get over 35mph (3 miles). All other drives I never had to go into reverse. I had a similar problem on my 97 tbird and it ended up being the the pressure control solenoid, but not sure if this transmission has one of those.

Can someone tell me what the vaccum canister under the dash, above the gas pedal is for? Its currently not hooked but looks like it supposed to hook to the gas pedal.

I think I'm wrong about the transmission slipping, seems I might have a fuel issue, but again it drives fine the first 15mins and then starts cutting out. If I'm at 55mph I can floor it and it will go with little to no hesitation, its when I'm at a stand still that it struggles to get to highway speeds

Did you find the problem? How about the fuel screen in the tank? Had one where the individual filter panels fell of. One of those things covered the fuel pipe, got some sediment on it and cut the amount of fuel it could draw.

It was the timing, I had it adjusted to where the distributor was in the max down position which made it idle great. I adjusted it back up some and it runs great, only problem is it won't idle until it warms up. I blew out the water pump gasket the other day so I bought some rtv and fixed that. Also got a set of used tires for it as the old ones were pretty dry rotted. This past week was focused on exterior appearance. I painted both bumpers and put a coat of wax on. Yesterday I cleaned the wheels and sprayed them with a silver wheel paint followed by a clear and they look amazing. This week's goal is to get it tagged and registered.

That's a beautiful Raider. I'm hoping to pick one up this weekend.

I'd also like to post about it with a few questions on this board but "new post" just takes me to a blank page.

Do I need to make a few replies before I'm allowed to post?

Anyway, well done on the work you're doing to this one!

Cheers,
Zack

Wheels look good! I chucked a whole set of those chrome wheels to scrap last year. If I would have seen what they looked like painted would have kept them and cleaned them up.
