Consider rebuilding the radiator to three core and replacing the water tube that goes from the pump to the rear of the engine.

Wasn't there a harmonic balancer bolt recall on the v6? I seem to recall something about them breaking.

There have been at least three versions. They have a tendency to back out. They should be properly torqued.

You have the engine out, so replace the rod and main bearings. You'll hate yourself if the oil pressure drops when it's hot because of worn bearings. You might even consider a new oil pump. My engine had 215,000 miles on it when I pulled it for low oil pressure and burned valves. When I opened it up I found the engine had previously been rebuilt. It failed because the PCV system was plugged solid and the engine sludged up to the point of plugging the oil intake screen and starving the bearings. I'm going to relocate the PCV valve from under the intake plenum to be able to service it easily.

What do you guys think about the ebay oil pumps? Has anyone had any experience with them? like the ITM brand for example.
