Thinking Lloyd has it. I do have better things to do than fight with other people's busted software and spamvertising. Edward

Yup, been on there a while now. I Joined pirate4x4, here, monterosport forums, lots of stuff but couldnt find one spot with decently educated regularly contributing posters until i settled in there. This forum has brains and regular traffic on it, but the forum layout is tough to handle, expo has educated contributing posters and much easier navigation.
No hate to anyone that made this forum, it was appreciated, but it's just too complicated to use.

Yup, been on there a while now. I Joined pirate4x4, here, monterosport forums, lots of stuff but couldnt find one spot with decently educated regularly contributing posters Montero Sport forum has its die-hards. Lots of reference stuff for Sports if you can find it. But I think there's about 10 of us left. Love Pirate. Don't contribute much - those guys always make me feel like I just got my first vehicle and I've never touched a wrench before. There's some scary smart people on there. The place to go if you're doing a SAS, 3-link, 4-link, etc. I like the people here on the Wire. They've all been a ton of help over the years. But the forum itself ... as I've commented before, this is a tech forum, not facebook. The Pirate guys seem to understand this, but here .... If you can't relatively easily get to information then this is all pointless. But, that's the point I guess. People come to tech forums for a specific reason - for information. This is not a social networking site. People don't come to hang out, gossip and exchange cat pictures. And, as my business partner pointed out - switching costs are $0. So, people will just go somewhere else where they can get what they want. Good luck collecting those add $$$'s when there's only 10 people left visiting the site a month. I'll step down of the soap box now. Edward

Been on ExPo for a while as... "off-roader" Frankly 4x4wire has been head and heels above the ExPo for technical information in my experience but that said it's been a long while since I was on the ExPo but am on here occassionally. The ExPo still needs to build an FAQ sticky thread and populate it with posts that have technically detailed information. A list of tools and build threads an FAQ does not make. Besides the ExPo, there's even a Facebook Mitsu group which has a lot of newbies asking the same ole same ole questions. I typically send them here.

I do have better things to do than fight with other people's busted software and spamvertising. Not sure what spam you're seeing Ed. Perhaps a spam blocker is in order? I'm using Firefox (just downloaded it today) and am seeing absolutely no adds. That said, I am seeing some google analytics advertising on my android phone and ipad using their standard browsers.

I've been on 4x4Wire for any number of years. I've been on Pirate for about 11 years. I've been on Expo since Ray brought it to my attention about 5 years ago. There are Mighty Max and Starion boards I track through less often. I'm on many Mitsu-related boards on FB. FB, to me, is still a fine place, easier to load pics and discuss the social matters, etc., but here, on the Wire, is where ALL the tech comes to and the archives have the remainder of our knowledge.
Lloyd, sometime we all must seek and review several sources to find what we need...just remember the Dewey decimal system in the library....pre-computer search techniques that some of us 40-somethings still use.
Not fair to pick this fight and compare boards. Each boards has a use.
