Getting the Wheeling Fever
So a little over a year ago my 94 Montero SR died on me on the side of I-40 somewhere in Oklahoma. Had a buddy that lived there and he was trying to sell it but he passed away unexpectedly so I had his wife ship it to me in NC and it's now parked at a different buddies house till I can get it road worthy enough to bring to my house.

I suspected that my issue was probably the fuel pump so I bought a replacement from Napa but upon trying to install it I noticed 2 things that stopped me. The first is that there is a fair amount of rust on the pressurized line coming out of the tank. The second is that the coupling between that line and the flex line going under the rear brace seems to be buggered up so that no amount of effort or PB Blaster seems to have resolved. The line coming out of the tank also appears to have been bent and/or has a kink in it near the rusted area.

Bottom line is at this point I'm thinking I need to consider just replacing the hanger assembly that holds the pump because even if I figure out how to get the current unit out I suspect it is compromised.

I can't find the part number for this in ASA and I'm not having much luck searching for a replacement though I found a piece on eBay that they wanted $300 for (!?). Does anyone happen to know what the part number is for this piece and where I might be able to acquire one?

Also any suggestions on how to get the flex line and the hard line detached from one another would be appreciated. I notice the flex line is just under the rear brace so if I can get under the truck I might be able to try up there and I suspect I can find the flex line at Napa or similar place.

Here is a thread from when I repaired the fuel pump housing on my gen 1 if you might want to fix your current setup.
I got the banjo fittings to connect injection hose to a montero fuel filter. Doing it again I would get a different style filter that would allow connecting a hose directly.

Also for a temp fix connecting to the line running to the front. I've cut the stock hose as close to the fuel pump housing as possible and attached it to the new lines on the pump housing with injection hose clamps.

Hm, I can probably do the drill out/replace thing if I had to. I'd rather do that then spend $300 on eBay for a whole new hanger.

I was already prepared to cut/splice the line - I've got some fuel line and clamps but I wasn't prepared to find the rust on the supply line.

Any pics of the situation? Trying to make sense of it in my mind and that's not working too well LOL!

TIA!

It's parked about 30 minutes away, if I get a chance to go by on Saturday I'll take a picture.

One of the previous owners obviously has had to replace the fuel pump because they mangled the fuel line connection from the fuel tank to the flex line that goes over the rear axle.

The issue is that the coupling coming off of the fuel tank going to the engine appears to be seized or otherwise mangled beyond being able to disconnect them. Applying muscle to the situation just results in twisting the line coming out of the gas tank instead of the coupling turning. That metal portion of the line coming off of the gas tank is also partially rusted.

About a year ago I applied copious amounts of PB Blaster to the fitting but it didn't help. My last attempt was using vise grips since the fittings are rounded off and no box wrench will give any leverage.

Neither of the junk yards around the area that I called appear to have a tank or hanger on hand.

So this looks like the part I would need to order, I'm not having any luck finding this locally at the junk yards.

Has anyone ordered from AliExpress before? I know they are affiliated with Alibaba. I probably would replace the fuel pump with the one I got from Napa.
