welcome newbie, sorry i dont' check in often, but if JAYVYPRO already got one this one's yours.

Head issues are pretty common on the 2.5. Check the torque on the head bolts. If it is cracked I would look in to the jet-valve free head. There are some options there, some castings are better than others, but any is better than stock with jet valves. Pricing varies too, complete ready to go can get expensive (especially if you look at fancy valve, spring, and rocker/lifter options), and bare castings aren't that cheap unless you can do the valve work yourself. I got mine for less than 300 (not incl core) (from Odessa cylinder head) set up with stock valves and springs, so all I had to do was check the oil passages are all clear and swap my rocker train over and it was good to go. Even got it through emissions here in WA a couple times before it got old enough not to require it anymore.
