Need a Spot
Hello all, new to 4x4 wire in AZ.

I recently purchased a 94 SR from a 71 year old man under the impression that the vehicle was sitting for 3 years due to fuel pump & it would be an easy fix and i would have a nice $400 montero for exploring... hahaha not the case yet!

It did in fact have a bad fuel pump but the vehicle still will not start. so below if the other steps i have taken.

- Replaced fuel pump, damaged fuel pressure line, & fuel filter.
- Replaced ignition switch as well.
- Engine does have spark, really good spark. pulled (2) front spark plugs that can be reached and they do have fuel on them.
- checked fuel pump relay and its good.
- Timing belt is in tact, not broken.
- The motor cranks but will not start, every few rotations whote smoke comes out of the throttle body but that is it.

Any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated. My next step is to pull the timing covers and intake to check for other than obvious vacuum leaks etc... I dont understand these motors real well and hoping some of you may have some input on processes i haven't performed yet before tearing it down.
