Given that my tranny had atf & the NP242 uses atf AND I was not confident with the internal sealing of the Strong Box as it leaked out of the back seal when I had it set up but not installed , I went for atf all round so if there was any internal leakage of fluid then it wouldnt matter as all 3 components had the same fluid. So far no problems


That's what I was thinking. I seem to remember that was what Duffy and I were talking about and why he recommended ATF. I've never had a leak problem that I know of but that's always been a concern of mine.

I think I'll shoot an email off to NWF and ask what the reasoning for gear lube is in their crawl box. I think if I had a leak between the A/T and crawl box I'd prefer that the crawl box was running ATF rather than gear lube. smile
