Got the Alt installed and everything seems to be operating normally.
Output voltage is at 14.07 (temperature dependent) and battery voltage is at 12.57. This battery is about 4 years old so I think it's getting near replacement.
Cost for bearings and brushes was $19.56 including shipping. Tools were extra, but can be used for next alternator.
I also replaced the idler bearings so the engine is very quiet. Purchased Bilstein pulleys for about $27 each + shipping. New alt belt was about $15. The belt is Continental (quiet run) with a special groove pattern.
All in all I think this was successful for first try and would do it again, especially for the cost savings.
