Getting the Wheeling Fever
Trying to find where the ground wire needs to go on my 94 SR 3.5, pulled the battery box, and now I cant figure where the grounding cable goes, obviously to the block, and the battery, but there's a 3rd spot on teh cable, probably a body ground, that I cant figure out where it is supposed to go. any help would be.. helpfull, so would pics.

I think its the same on the Montero as the Montero Sport. The negative goes from the post to the inner fender next to the battery, then to the frame, then the block.

Again, don't know how it is on the Montero, but there are 2 or 3 empty threaded attachment points around the inner fender attachment point, any one of which would be fine as long as the bolt fits. smile

There is only one frame attachment point that I could find. I had to drill a new hole and tap it because of the steering box relocation.

The block attachment point is a PITA to get to but there also isn't any other place to relocate it to that was close.

Electrically you absolutely need all three whether its a Montero or a Montero Sport, but they don't need to be in exactly same location the factory chose.

The auto electricians only stressed that the bolt needs to fit the lug. Use a 3/8" bolt in a 3/8" lug. Don't use a 1/4" bolt in a 5/16" lug. smile
