Anyone know if the 315mm rotors and calipers just work or if I need the whole hub assembly and knuckle?
I want to upgrade to the late model Sport brakes (16" wheel equipped trucks)It's time to get all new brakes (all original 215k miles brakes) so I figured I might as well get the bigger stuff. I already have the 1" master cylinder and power booster from said sport.

Allegedly the rotors backing plate and calipers bolt up, according to the Aussies. I may just buy new rotors and calipers just to see, if i need anything else i'll hit the yards.

late model Sport, not sure on years but maybe like 01+ or something. Still figuring out Sports, it could be a 3.5 XS thing i'm really not sure.

Monterosportonline.net - Montero Sport Brake Information I'm not sure what you need to look for to find the 'big brakes'. We've been hashing this out for months on the Sport forum and it appears that they could come on anything from an LS to the Limited in 3.0L or 3.5L. Edward

I also just discovered the big brakes on my Lexus are the same bolt locations as the Montero. Not that that means anything

I also just discovered the big brakes on my Lexus are the same bolt locations as the Montero. Not that that means anything The bolt locations are actually pretty common. There are really only a few 'standard' patterns. AFAIKT its the center hole that changes a lot. If you can find someone with a machine lathe rotors can sometimes be re-drilled and/or the centers bored out. That's how I get the Exploder rotors on a 6x5.5 pattern. The center is ok but the Ford uses a 5 lug pattern. PITA to find someone who will do it, though. Edward

Interestingly, the big Montero rotors are also quite possibly the same size as the ones on the GX. I wish i could find a confirmed picture of the Montero big caliper.
