Okay, so my world is Mitsu-centric, lemme just get that out of the way first. My dog's name is mitsu, and so is everything inside and outside the garage. So I look at the wire through my three diamond glasses. Here's what I see...

I see forums with the best content for mitsus on the web, and going back 16 years. I see a userbase that rivals its content in quality. I see a tech section that looks neglected (guilty), and another tech section that is virtually unknown to the average user.

I also see folks moving to other venues, such as expo, etc. I feel we offer something unique, and I know many of you agree. We just need to get back on top of our game...

Here's what I'd like to see, in a perfect Mitsu world...

-Forums that are active, have the ability to post images, and don't have dozens of little used sections.
-tech content that is easily accessible, and constantly referred to by the forums, ideally based in the forums, indexed separately but able to be commented on by forum users. I'd like it to be so mainstream that average users adopt it and refer to it regularly, and send newbs to the tech content, rather than telling them to "search and stop annoying me".

I think we have the people to do this. The platform may or may not exist in this particular software iteration.

I regret that John has been a one-man show for far longer than anyone had the right to expect of him. The mitsu section is our content because we created and added to it. thanks for protecting it for us John, despite the attacks in the last few years. Its time for us to take it into its next phase, IMHO.

I've done some more digging and reading... the forum categories have really been pared down from what I remember... the only section thats seems dusty at this point is the communication/gear section, which is too bad, actually. Otherwise, looks like almost all are active. Nice work John. So remove that from my "wants" above, if keeping score. LOL.

My world is primary land use and secondary jeeps...

Yes, there is a lot of good content. Toyota, Jeep and Mitsubishi are the prime content blocks on the 'Wire. And, there is a lot of content in Jeep section that applies in Toyota and Mitsubishi. In other words, there is quality technical content in vehicle specific areas that applies across platform.

Yes, I have trimmed the forums down to reduce clutter. I have considered reducing the big truck section but Russell has his Dodge power wagon affliction. And, I like the Dodge big iron.

The Communications and outdoor gear section seemed a good idea. The content reflects an interest that was blooming at the time.

Frankly, the economic implosion caused a massive shift in interest. That coupled with the rise of social media has changed lifestyles.

On the positive side, I am noting more people shifting back to forums and content based sites where they can get information of interest that is not available on social media.

Yes, the core of 4x4wire exists. I am guilty of creating some confusion not really knowing what I was doing during a number of changes in content management systems, But, the core is there that can be built upon.

Note, I am primarily land use in my approach. A couple of years ago I began shifting a majority of "land use" info to MUIRNet.net and 4x4vouce.com

What appears on 4x4Wire is more a national, general information. I would like to see 4x4Wire feature more technical information and destinations fir 4x4 fun

I've put together the beginning of a blog... but can't seem to insert pics. They upload to the media gallery, bub don't seem to insert. Is this feature enabled?

Would also like some feedback on article number 1 if anyone has a minute...

Once you upload, there is a tab to right in the media manager to INSERT. My suggestion is to upload into the tab THIS POST.

Or, if you are going to use the same image in different posts, use the MY IMAGE tab.

Others won't see it unless they are part of a "Team". A Mitsubishi Team is setup. Phil is the only member right now. I can add other team members as long as they have an account wire 4x4wire section, not just the forums. A cross login capability is being looked at.

Phil, you are testing out a feature that is new for this release. There are some SEO entries that need to be set per article.

Phil's first blog post is live. Got some long-standing configuration errors corrected. Time for a nap....

Russell: Phil is using a different software.

You have a portal login. Try it. I will add you to the Mitsubishi Team...

It's a good start Phil. Now we need to redirect our FaceBook folks this way.
John, is there a way we can get some of this info into a cloud or something and take some of the strain off the servers to speed up searches etc?

always working
