GENTLEMEN...IT IS ALIVE, IT'S ALIVE...

The issue? the tach filter. As I mentioned before, on the positive incoming into the primary side of the coil I saw the 12v +/- coming in but i also noticed a parasitic mV on the negative so something was feeding this into the wiring harness.

I disconnected the tach filter and indeed, that was the culprit. It had shorted out when I attempted to solder the wire that had broken off. Hey, not because I did a lousy job, it is because i attempted the impossible. The rubberized backpacking is old and was too hard to make a cut with a blade and successfully pull a bit of wire for the soldering job. it simply was not worth even to try to begin with.

So, I am tach-less and I am not sure how easy it is to find this part. Any pointers?

Thanks Y'all,
Javy
