We have a new user posting a build thread in the Mitsu section.

Also, many of the levels (Nissan, Rover, Ford, and others) are technically dead, with no new posts for up to 4 years. Are we going to scrap them?

I am considering options with the Nissan, Rover, Ford, and Chevy sections. Your input to the Dodge keeps it alive...

As I hate to lose indexed content, my initial thought is to combine some low content forums from the "backyard" to the "back 40".

It is under consideration and has not been a priority to worry about.

So, yes, the consideration about keep or scrap is on the list.

One thing I would like to see is your Dodge stuff transition to the 4x4wire blog section.

I have done some review of the old content in those forums and really don't have a high degree of confidence there is search engine content. So, the decision for the future is they are under consideration for scraping.

But, rather than scraping, I am considering a merge of content into the general 4x4 topic to ensure SEO access continues.

The current server has 4 gigs of RAM. I just received a proposal for an upgrade to a newer server (this one was placed in service in 2009) that has 12 gig RAM and is a faster processor. (and cheaper.)

That should help some of the performance issues as RAM is the biggest choke point other than connection speed and 4x4Wire is in a good location within the internet hierarchy.

I have experimented with an "off-site" server for images using a Flickr 4x4Wire account. That was actually slower at display than images on the server.

But, I believe that is a Flickr issue as others have images hosted on their image server and they display fine in the forums.

I have looked at the "cloud" concept and the available options are more expensive and no confirmed increase in performance over a dedicated server.

I do have a dedicated 4x4wire Facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/MUIRNet/

Driving traffic is a matter of posting an article link to your Facebook page.
