Need a Spot
Hey all, I have a '95 pathfinder with auto tranny, all stock except rims, 166,000+ miles, and it was running well (except for gas leak! lol)and I decided to change the tranny fluid & filter. Ever since, it's slow to go from P to D or R to D. It's fine once I get going but i'm afraid that it's only gonna get worse. Anyone have any experience with this? Tips, Tricks, Ideas? I'd appreciate 'em. -Johnny

does is slip in all gears or is it starting in say 3rd like it is stuck in 'winter driving mode' than shifting when you hit about 30-40 mph

Unfortunately it sounds like the begining indicators thet the tranny needs rebuilt/replaced. My 95 Pathfinder's about there too! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" />

Average life expectancy of Nissan Auto trannys: 100,000 to 130,000 miles (some live longer, most don't)

Average life expectancy of Nissan Manual trannys: 120,000 to 150,000 miles. Mine died at 126,000 VERY abused miles (1993 model)! The one in my '89 parts truck died at 140,000 miles (had it re-built, and is now in my truck).
