there was some sort of land cruiser gathering for that weekend according to some cruisers we met the weekend before (10th). they said like 200 land cruisers should be there! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="images/icons/shocked.gif" />

cool ... i've seen some very capable Land Cruisers and wouldn't mind having one myself someday ... it would be cool to see some of them perform if we run into them ... also, chances are they won't be camping at Camp #3, rather they'd be at some other group campsite or use the nearby motels

oh now its not that bad. were talking the moderate trails here... not the ones for big dawgs. i run 33s and i did most of the trails we ran (not including trail 1 <img border="0" alt="[Baby]" title="" src="graemlins/baby.gif" /> ) without a lot of trouble. yeah i know those aren't the crazy trails.. but they are great moderate ones and are a lot of fun for moderate vehicles!

we went all the way to the tennessee side on 1, then up 6, looked at peckerwood ledge on 7, then down 4 to fains ford, then tried 8 but turned around due to problems with one vehicle in the group and went 4 to 5 where we had a lot of fun in the river. we didn't get the other half of 4 run.

jason,

man, I wish I had a 2-lo gear <jealous>

i did the same thing my first time at Tellico, started on trail 6, and that seemed to me like one of the more difficult "moderate" trails

trail 8 cirlces all the way back around and gives you two chances to view what's happening on trail 9 (slickrock), at the top and bottom ... the other half of trail 4 which leads back to trail 1 is quite interesting as well, so there'll be some new stuff for ya to enjoy!

firemedic,
i did all those same "moderate" trails we've been talking about with only 31 muds and some homemade bolt-on rocker panel protection, and did fine, but that was a year ago and trails do change ... last December with 33 Swampers I hardly hit at all, unless I chose to bang on rocks for the fun of it <img border="0" alt="[Hillbilly]" title="" src="graemlins/notooth.gif" />

is it june yet?!?!

tanman2003,
yes they are 33 Swamper TSL bias ply, and not much rubbing ... i had a rear leaf spring over axle done, so no rubbing in the rear at all (before that they used to rub the fenders while offroad even with add-a-leafs) ... up front i have the torsion bars cranked way up, front metal flaps trimmed, and high-profile bump stops (with low profile i got some rubbing, so i ditched them), Rancho RS5000 shocks, so there's very little rubbing (only the plastic up inside the wheel well once in a while) ... sorry for the detailed, long answer

you coming to Tellico on June 28th?

Jason,
you didn't tell me all that before, about the exra wiring, is that why it gave you trouble that one time at Rich Mtn, not wanting to go out of 4wd?

no.. i didn't have it done then. and its really only two pieces of wire and a switch spliced into wire that feeds the tcase clutch from the torque on demand relay. took all of 5 minutes to do. its neat though.. i used a lighted switch so when i'm in auto.. you can see when it decides the front needs to engage.

the rich mtn problem was caused by bad contacts on the wiring harness that is on the tcase. it still happens, but very rarely since i cleaned the contacts. also wouldn't let me into 4lo at amicalola that weekend.

can't wait for this one!
