Rodeo bob, sounds like we would just get on 64 west and roll with it. I still don;t know if i will be able to make it THIS time but I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Iluvmud, I64 west goes to Richmond. From the NC Gazetter it looks like 58 west to 85 south. Then at Greensboro take 220 south. After Ashboro I'm not sure where to go to get to the campground. From Ashboro it looks like 49 south to 109, but these are secondary roads that go through a lot of small towns. If someone knows a better route let me know.

Where is this place? I am from the D.C. area. I am looking for a place to take my K5 that might test it a little.

I have some maps posted on my site HERE

Full website with pics in the sig line.

Enjoy!

I tend to lean towards taking hwy 134 that picks up off of 220 South just below Asheboro. It leads straight to Troy which is the closest major population center there. From downtown Troy you pick up Hwy 109 West which leads straight to the Forest entrance. It's a beautiful drive through the country and a fairly straight shot.

But, it's each to his own. 49 South gets you there too and you cross over a pretty large lake/resevoir. Also a great drive through the country. 49 intersects with 109 so you would head East to the Forest entrance.

Cheers,

Iluvmud, Yea 64 east to 58 west. I think the other post was talking about NC state route 64. I was looking at the nc gazetter and I95 south to nc 64 west looks like a good route. It goes into Raleigh but there's a beltway around it so we wouldn't have to go through downtown.

Ilovmud, I'm still looking at joining or starting a club.

Paisan, Get a NC Gazetter and look on page 59. The campground is by the lake near the left edge. I thought you had been to Uhwarrie before. Oh well thats what I get for thinking, right.
