Yeah, I plan to wheel all winter, I want to scout some areas farther south and there's always Paragon. Also, we'll be planning clinics so folks can learn from each other.

I have never done U-Joints before, so I would be more comfortable doing it at home. Dont waste your time trying to press it you with a vice or any of that other crap.

Unbolt it from the pinion... but first mark a spot on the d-shaft and on the pinion so you can put it back together in the same location.

There will be a c-clip on each u-joint cap. Use a screw driver to pop these off, you wont be reusing them, so give it hell.

When all c-clips are off, get a big friendly hammer, 2lb will work awesome. Dont try to use a claw hammer, or a dead blow.

Lay the shaft down and bang on the pinion flange... right above the cap. Keep hitting it, firmly, but dont hit the acual flange, just the part the u-joint install into. The oposite ujoint cap will being to walk out of the hole. Keep hitting it until you can pull it free.

Now repeat this for all of the caps untill the are all out, at which point you take the old u-joint cross out.

Just be carefull installing the new one, make sure you dont lose any needle bearings, you will screw up the install that way.
