Looks great. And what did you do to silent the constant dinging that says your door is ajar anytime while the engine is running?

Also, keep in mind that in some states it is illegal to drive on the road w/ the doors removed in a vehicle that wasn't designed to have the doors removed for normal use (like an FJ-40 or J**p). I think it has something to do w/ the tub design keeping stuff that's on the floor from falling out.
Gotta get my seatbelt and stereo options figured out soon so I can take the top off the 40!

Sid- The plugs where behind the drivers side kickpanel.
Jeff- No dinging here
I am getting a mirror that clamps on to the A-Arm grab handle. Also, im planning on putting a piece of wood on its side to keep stuff from falling out.

It would just think that the door is open if the circuit is open or if the door isn't there. I thought the electric "dinger" is somewhere under the dash - I don't think it uses the speakers to make the ding.
So you could say I'm very surprised it doesn't ding constantly, like most vehicles do when you take the doors off. I've seen it a couple times with my friends in other vehicles. Typically the first thing to figure out is how to make it think the door is there so you don't burn up the dome light and you don't go crazy with the dinging. I know you can simply turn off our dome light, which is awesome. [ April 12, 2003, 01:34 PM: Message edited by: Jeff the marmot ]

In my TJ, there was a wire that goes to the door switch that you could just unplug. Most people pulled the fuse though. I'm not sure if there is such a fuse on 4Runners. A few pieces of strong tape will also work to keep the sensor down. I did that in a friends YJ.

to stop the dinging nd keep the light from staying on you just have to undo one screw. On the door pilar that the door latches to you will see a rubber button thing, lift up the bottom of the rubber and you will see a bolt its like a 10mm. just undo that and the dinging and light will be gone.
