Nova,Md and all others heading down RT.66. If you want to meet up the place is Uno's. It is off 66 at exit 47B the frist rt.234 exit. After you take the exit get left. It will be the frist left that is not the on ramp back to 66. I think it is the second light. You will be able to see it from rt.234. There is gas and ice on the right as soon as you come off Rt.66. Be there at 6:30. We will be leaving at 7 am sat. morning. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/sleeping.gif" alt="" />. Form there we go down 66 to 81 to 33. We will have cb's on channel 4. Bring chainsaws and what ever we might need to get some trees out the way. Who knows after the hurricane what will be down.

There is going to be 4-10 from Va-TTOra there also.

Might be a good idea to bring firewood also.

I was already planning a trip up there for this weekend. It would be nice to get with a group. I was planning on checking out the route from 4X4 Wire | Second Mountain Trail. Mainly because they said my stock Grand Cherokee could handle it.

Does anyone have an idea as to what is in the plan to be explored and if my stock Grand Cherokee can hang with the big boys.

Your Grand Cherokee will be able to hang, no problem. Last year I rode with a grand Cherokee with 30X 9.50's and a YJ on 31's.

Here are some of the trails I would like to run: Kephart, Loop Trails, Second mountain, Down from the ATV ramps and than turn around and going back up. Sunday I was planning on hitting some trails up by reddish nob.

The last time we wheeled and camped at GWNF there was a JGC in our group and hung with us just fine. Some guys choose to try some harder stuff on the way, but there is always a way around it if you are not that daring. You will be fine and you will enjoy yourself.

Was it that dark green JGC. I think it had a little lift and had troubles at Dictum and that waterfall right before the big ledges on kephart. However I also had a little trouble (well just bottomed out couple of times) on Dictum. All in good fun though.

I'm just posting to confirm that I will be going, and I'll be meeting up with the NOVA crowd at Uno's.

If anyone's interseted, here's the response I got from the ranger station concerning trail closings:

"Second Mountain and Dictum Ridge trails are open. Mitchell Knob Road,
below Ft. Seybert in WV, is closed due to fords being washed out from
Hurricane Isabel. A good many roads on our District suffered some minor
damage (gravel being washed away, culverts blocked, etc.), but they remain
open."
